Skills and powers
Your character’s special characteristics, class talents, mutations and supernatural powers are organized in the Abilities tab of the Dice Queen sheet.
What can be registered as a skill?
This section is versatile and caters to different game systems:
- Class Powers: Characteristic features such as Sneak Attack, Rage, Bardic Inspiration or Straight Shot.
- Paranormal powers or mutations: Mystical effects, passive bonuses and curses.
- Origin/background skills: Narrative advantages obtained through the character’s life history.
- Special combat actions: Maneuvers such as disarming, taking down or protecting allies.
How to register a new skill
- In the Skills tab, click ”[+ New skill]”.
- Fill in the main fields:
- Skill name: Clear and identifiable title.
- Type / Category: Passive (always active) or Active (requires an action or cost to be used).
- Activation cost: Number of Effort Points (EP), Mana or Actions required.
- Full description: Text explaining the effects, range, duration and conditions.
- Optional roll formula: If the skill performs a test or directly deals damage, you can enter the dice notation to activate it with one click.
Using skills during the session
- Quick Fire in Chat: Clicking on the skill action sends an elegant card to Campaign Chat, showing the brief description and the dice rolled so that the entire group understands the effect.
- Resource deductors: If the ability has a configured cost, it helps you deduct your points from the vital bar without having to do the math in your head.
If the power is a complex spell or ritual that requires continuous concentration, check the rules detailed in Spells and Rituals.
